What did Jay Shah say?

Talking to the press, Jay Shah revealed some of the details with respect to the application to become the head coach of India, also hinting at the possibility of the coach being either foreign or Indian.

"That decision will also be made by the CAC. There are many all-format players, like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant, among others. Moreover, there is no precedent for such a situation in India,” Shah said

We are looking for a long-term coach for three years. There is no precedent of different coaches for different formats in Indian cricket. Besides, we have a number of all-format players. Ultimately, it will be the Cricket Advisory Committee's (CAC) call. I have to implement what they decide.

When does Rahul Dravid's tenure as India coach end?

Rahul Dravid has been the coach of Indian team from November 2021. His current contract with BCCI ends in June 2024. The T20 World Cup is expected to be his last assignment as India coach unless he applies for the position again and is selected.
