IPL 2024 is reaching new heights everyday. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on Wednesday, saw havoc on the pitch, as SRH chased a 166-run target in under 10 overs. This is the highest target to be chased in under 10 overs in Men's T20 Cricket.

SRH claimed a ten-wicket victory over LSG, who scored 165 runs after batting first. LSG had a torrid start to their innings, scoring just 73 runs until the 13th over. A 99-run partnership between Ayush Badoni (55*) and Nicholas Pooran (48*) took LSG to a respectable total.

However, the ever-so-explosive opening duo of Abhishek Sharma (75*) and Travis Head (89*), caused heartaches to the LSG fanbase. The SRH openers single-handedly chased the 166 runs target set by the opposition. The joke is that they chased it with 62 balls to spare, scoring at a rate of 17.76 runs per over.

Lucknow skipper KL Rahul was very critical of his team's performance against SRH in Hyderabad. The loss against SRH, who were a top-four rival for Lucknow, has now put them on the backseat, after being hit on the Net Run Rate.

What did KL Rahul say after SRH chased the 166-run target in under 10 overs?

LSG skipper KL Rahul was lost for words after seeing the explosive batting from the SRH openers. He lauded the opening duo of Head and Sharma while complimenting their six-hitting skills.

In the post-match interview, the LSG captains said,

I am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on TV. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting skills, Rahul complimented the SRH opening duo.

He added,

They did not give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one. Once you are on the losing side, there are question marks on the decisions taken.

We were 40-50 runs short. When we lost wickets in the powerplay, we could not get any momentum. Ayush and Nicky batted well to get us to 166. But even if we would have got 240, they would have chased it as well.

What next for KL Rahul and LSG?

KL Rahul & Co. will play second of their three consecutive away matches, to end their group stage run in the IPL 2024. After a humungous loss against SRH in Hyderabad, LSG now travel to Delhi to face Delhi Capitals.

A loss for LSG in Delhi would mean the end of their road in the playoffs race for IPL 2024. Yet another four-pointer is approaching LSG's way, on May 14, 2024. The proceedings will kickstart at 19:30 hours IST.
