A new year for WWE means the buildup for WrestleMania has begun. The first stop on the road to WWE's biggest show of the year is the Royal Rumble, which will be held at Tropicana Field in Florida on Jan. 27.
The annual event is traditionally one of the biggest and most anticipated WWE shows of the year. It features a men’s and women’s Royal Rumble match, with 30 participants. The last person in the Rumble matches earns an opportunity at a championship at WrestleMania 40 in April.
Already announced for the men's match is last year's winner, Cody Rhodes. The returning CM Punk also stated he will appear in his first Royal Rumble since 2014. Will there be any surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble matches?
Also on the card, Roman Reigns, a champion since 2020, defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight. Meanwhile, Logan Paul defends the WWE United States Title against Kevin Owens.

Royal Rumble format & rules
To enter the Royal Rumble match, 30 wrestlers are assigned a spot in the match at random. The first two participants kick things off, and after one-minute or 90-second intervals (it can vary by year), another wrestler comes out. That continues until all competitors have entered the match.
There are no pinfalls, DQs, or submissions. To eliminate an opponent, you must toss them over the top rope and both of their feet must touch the floor. The only way to win is by being the last person in the ring by the night's end.
