A rematch two years in the making takes place at AEW Full Gear on November 19. Inside the Prudential Center in New Jersey, the main event of the All Elite Wrestling-produced PPV will be Jon Moxley defending the AEW World Title against MJF.

The bout is a rematch from their clash in 2020 for the AEW World Title, where MJF lost. Since then, MJF has attempted to battle his way back to a world title shot. He has had rivalries with various stars, including his old associate Wardlow. Following that feud, MJF took an extended absence related to contract negotiations and wasn’t heard from in months. He returned at All Out 2022, winning the Casino Ladder Match for a shot at the AEW World Title.

One of the four pillars of AEW, MJF is ready to hold gold. The 26-year-old wants the spotlight, and won't allow it to shine on anyone else at the event.

“I am so sick of waiting my turn. Ever since I entered AEW, I’ve had to get the spotlight stolen from me in my big moments,” MJF said on Pardon My Take. “My first ever singles pay-per-view match, the spotlight was on a neck tattoo. My first ever world title shot, which was against you Jon Moxley, when you cheated, the spotlight was on Matt Hardy taking a fall like Humpty Dumpty. The first ever Blood & Guts match, I am standing on top of the cage, with a crimson mask. I prevailed and that should have been my crowning moment. Instead, the spotlight was on Chris Jericho.

“Speaking of Chris Jericho, he stole the spotlight from me for a full calendar year. And then, on my big return, the spotlight was on a press conference. Well, know this Jon: On November 19 at Full Gear in the tristate area, Newark, New Jersey, in the Prudential Center, I am not waiting for the spotlight anymore. I am grabbing it. And you are going to have to take it out of my cold, dead hands, Jon. Your boy William Regal bet on the wrong horse. I don’t need a Dynamite Diamond Ring to knock your lights out. Come Full Gear, the devil gets his due.”

Moxley would lose the belt against Kenny Omega in December 2020. He won the interim belt when CM Punk was injured in June, beat Punk to become the lineal champion in August, and lost the belt to Punk at All Out 2022. A few weeks later, he won a tournament final against Bryan Danielson to once again become champion after a Punk injury and suspension following an altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Other matches on the card include The Acclaimed vs. Swerve In Our Glory for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter for the interim AEW Women's World Title, Chris Jericho defending the ROH World Title against Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Sammy Guevara, and Britt Baker vs. the returning Saraya, among others.
