Coco Gauff is arguably the biggest name in American tennis at the moment, bursting onto the scene while still in high school and proving her credentials with every passing WTA Tour.

It's been a tale of breakaway success and near-misses for the now 19-year-old since her first tour back in 2018, but 2023 was the year she climbed to the top of the mountain, winning the US Open on home soil for the first grand slam title of her burgeoning career.

That mountain doesn't level out anytime soon though, and Gauff is straight back into the thick of the action with the first grand slam of 2024 — the Australian Open. Melbourne Park awaits, and the world number four is ready for action at a venue she's struggled to make much of an impact on.

While she may have reached the quarters and the final (twice) as a doubles player, Gauff's singles campaigns at the Australian Open have never advanced further than the fourth round. Could 2024 be the year she wins her first title down under to claim a second successive grand slam? We'll be tracking her progress in then singles tournament right here.

When is Coco Gauff's next Australian Open 2024 match?

Gauff has already beaten Anna Karolína Schmiedlova, Caroline Dolehide, Alycia Parks and Magdalena Frech and Marta Kostyuk to reach the semifinals. Her next match is now set for Thursday, January 25 (local time) against Aryna Sabalenka.

What time is Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka?

Having been drawn against the world No. 2 in the semifinals, Gauff faces her biggest test yet if she is to reach the final.

Gauff will face Sabalenka at Melbourne Park on Thursday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m. (local time) and is first on Rod Laver Arena in the night session.

For fans in the US wanting to catch the action, it means tuning in at 3:30 a.m. ET / 12:30 a.m. PT on Thursday, January 25.

Coco Gauff's Australian Open record

Gauff's arrival on the global tennis scene across 2018 and 2019 shocked the world, but she missed the Australian Open in both years. Since then, she's played at every edition of the tournament, but has failed to hit the heights achieved in the other grand slams.

A fourth-round exit in her maiden 2020 tournament was followed up by second and first-round defeats in 2021 and 2022 respectively, before reaching the last 16 once again in 2023. Gauff will be hoping that this is the year she can go all the way to victory at Melbourne Park, or at least be a serious contender.
