France were fancied by the bookmakers as the 2022 FIFA World Cup reached the semifinals in Qatar, but the heavyweight final matchup against Argentina has everyone scratching their heads.
A monumental clash at in the Qatar showpiece has both teams sitting at dead-even odds to lift the trophy, as things stand.
There are just two teams remaining, with Lionel Messi-inspired Albiceleste hoping to earn their first World Cup title since 1982 after dominating Croatia on Tuesday by a 3-0 scoreline. Defending champions France, meanwhile, will be looking to become the first back-to-back World Cup title winners since 1962 after topping Cinderella story Morocco in the semifinals.
Croatia knocked out pre-tournament favourites Brazil, meaning Argentina are the side remaining with the highest pre-tournament odds.

Price changes aren't always a reaction to results: France at one point were considered less likely to triumph than they were after the April group draw — unsurprising given their long list of injuries, including to Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema — but are now short again.

Who will win the World Cup? Favourites in 2022
France and Argentina have opened with dead-even odds after both sides progressed to the 2022 final.
Les Bleus took down Morocco, the first African nation ever to reach the World Cup semifinal. Argentina, meanwhile, topped Luka Modric and Croatia to reach the final match.
England, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and Germany all exited the tournament earlier than they would have liked, as all were amongst the favourites to win the title.
