West Ham travels to Spain to take on Sevilla in a perfect test of their European credentials on Thursday night.

The Hammers eased through the group stages topping their group, but have struggled in recent weeks, winning only two of their last seven in the league.

Sevilla stands as one of the favorites for the competition, given their Europa League pedigree, and they qualified for the last 16 after beating Dinamo Zagreb last month following their third placed finish in the UEFA Champions League Group Stages.

Sevilla vs West Ham predicted lineups

The Spanish side will be hoping on-loan striker Anthony Martial will be able to feature in this game, having missed the last three matches with a muscle injury. Prior to the injury, Martial had started three matches in a row for Sevilla.

Former Liverpool winger Suso is confirmed to miss this one with an ankle injury, and Diego Carlos, Papu Gomez and Erik Lamela are all doubts having suffered knocks of late.

However, midfielder Thomas Delaney won't feature on Thursday night due to his red card in the match in the last 32 against Zagreb.

Predicted Sevilla Lineup (4-3-3): Bono (GK) — Acuna, Carlos, Kounde, Navas — Jordan, Fernando, Rakitic — Corona, En Nesyri, Ocampos.

Forward Jarrod Bowen is a major doubt for West Ham, having come off injured in the away loss to Liverpool at the weekend. A big help for the Hammers could be the availability of Declan Rice, who may be back in line to start following his recent struggle with illness.

Back-up goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has played in all but one of the Europa League games so far, and is likely to continue in goal as the designated Europa League goalkeeper.

Defenders Angelo Ogbonna and Vladimir Coufal are confirmed absentees, struggling with a knee and groin injury respectively.

Predicted West Ham lineup (4-2-3-1): Areola (GK) — Johnson, Zouma, Dawson, Cresswell — Rice, Soucek; Lanzini, Fornals, Benrahma — Antonio.

Sevilla have never lost to English opposition in UEFA's second tier European competition, beating Liverpool, Wolverhampton and Manchester united on the way to their most recent successes (2015/16 & 2019/20)

They're also unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, winning seven and drawing three in that time.

The London side have only won two of their last 11 away games, meaning they come into this games as underdogs given Sevilla's form.

However, with players missing for Sevilla, it does give Moyes' side a chance, but it is likely to be a tense, low-scoring affair, as first legs often are, with the Spanish side starting as favorites.
