Christian Pulisic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and other players who will face teammates at the Qatar 2022 World Cup

With the draw for Qatar 2022 confirmed, we can look forward to a series of mouthwatering match-ups when the finals get underway.

But while all eyes will be on the battle between the national sides, several club teammates will also have the 'pleasure' of facing each other.

Will we get an iconic and controversial moment, such as the infamous incident between Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney at the 2006 World Cup?

With players from across the world ready to face each other, there are plenty of examples of club teammates who will be going at it. 

Here we go through the most high-profile examples of those from the group stages, as we officially start our World Cup hype.

Mason Mount (England) vs. Christian Pulisic (USA)

Two of Chelsea's young stars will face each other in Group B, as England come up against the U.S.

Both are a similar age and have known each other a long time. Pulisic first met Mount when they were young players at Chelsea, when Pulisic came to train with the Blues as he worked his way across Europe.

The two stars will have to put friendship aside as they focus on success with their country and possible progression to the knockout stages.

Sadio Mane (Senegal) vs. Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands)

Having just edged out fellow Liverpool player Mohamed Salah in both the AFCON final and the final World Cup qualifier, Mane now has the chance to cause even more agony for another teammate.

Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal have been drawn in Group A with the Netherlands, Qatar and Ecuador, and the thought of Mane testing out Van Dijk with his pace and dribbling is definitely one we can't wait for!

Ilkay Gundogan (Germany) vs. Rodri (Spain)

Two vital parts of Pep Guardiola's midfield for Manchester City will collide in Group E, as Rodri and Gundogan go head-to-head for their countries.

The pair have formed a brilliant partnership since Rodri joined the Premier League giants, as Gundogan thrives by making late runs into the box to score goals, whilst Rodri maintains City's balance and protects them.

It will be interesting to see who will get the better of this particular tussle, as Gundogan will be looking to use his movement to get in behind the Spanish midfielder.

Dusan Tadic (Serbia) vs. Antony (Brazil)

In Group G, two Ajax ballers will meet when Serbia face Brazil in a very competitive pool.

Tadic has been Ajax's star man for more than a few seasons now, and Antony is the new talented youngster on the scene making a name for himself.

Antony has broken into the Brazil setup recently, starting both of their final two World Cup qualifying games.

If these two can bring their club form into the action in Qatar, it will be an exciting Group G for sure.

Cristiano Ronaldo/Bruno Fernandes (Portugal) vs. Edinson Cavani (Uruguay)

These three players have all started as an attacking trio on more than one occasion at club level for Manchester United, but they will face each other in Group H.

Fernandes and Ronaldo have been known to assist each other in United red, and Portugal will hope to reap the rewards of that club relationship when they face Cavani's Uruguay.
