Monday was a night of mixed emotions for 2010 world champion Neil Robertson, as he endured disappointment and delight in the same evening.
The pre-tournament favourite at the 2022 World Snooker Championship crashed out as he was beaten 13-12 by Jack Lisowski in their second-round match.
But in the process he joined an elite list of players to have achieved one of the sport's rarities at its biggest competition.
The Australian became only the ninth player to hit a maximum 147 break at the Crucible when he cleared 15 reds, 15 blacks and all the colours in the 19th frame of the encounter.
He punched the air in delight after potting the final black and was congratulated by Lisowski, as well as Judd Trump and Anthony McGill, who were playing on the neighbouring table.

Robertson gets a £40,000 reward for achieving the feat at the Crucible Theatre.
Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry have both done it three times, while John Higgins, Ali Carter, Mark Williams, Jimmy White and Cliff Thorburn have all done it once at the World Championship previously.

Why does Neil Robertson have to share top-break prize at 2022 World Snooker Championship despite hitting 147?
You would think Robertson would have the £15,000 top-break prize sealed after getting a maximum. But at present he is only entitled to £7,500 from that pot.
That is because Graeme Dott, the 2006 world champion, hit a 147 in a qualifying match as he attempted to reach the last 32 and the first round of the tournament.

When did Graeme Dott hit his 147 at the 2022 World Snooker Championship?
Dott's maximum, the second of his career, came in the third qualifying round, which was held in Sheffield, but at the English Institute of Sport rather than the Crucible.
The Scot did it on his way to beating Pang Junxu 6-1, but that proved to be the high point of his time in Yorkshire as he failed to make the main draw, losing to Jamie Clarke 10-8 in the final qualifying round.

How many players can share top-break prize at the 2022 World Snooker Championship?
At the moment the £15,000 pot is split between Robertson and Dott, with both taking home £7,500. But if anyone else hits a 147 in the remainder of the event, which runs until May 2, then it would become a three-way split, or possibly even more.
Only once before, in 2008, when O'Sullivan and Carter did it, have there been two 147s in the main draw of the same World Snooker Championship.

How much money has Neil Robertson won at the 2022 World Snooker Championship?
Robertson may be despondent at missing out on adding a second world title to his trophy cabinet. But his accountant will not be too disappointed.
He gets £30,000 for going out in the second round, £40,000 for hitting a 147 at the Crucible and is on track at present for £7,500 as a share of the top-break prize.
So at present he is taking home £77,500. But that could become slightly less if anyone notches up a maximum in the closing days.
