The USA Olympic track and field team will be finalized when the trials head to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Beginning on Friday, hundreds of athletes will try to secure their spots on Team USA ahead of the Paris Games.
Sha'Carri Richardson will compete in the 100-meter race and likely make her Olympic debut later this summer. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will aim to repeat as Olympic 400-meter hurdles gold medalist. Olympic medalists Athing Mu, Nia Ali and Gabby Thomas will also run in their respective events. Reigning Olympic champions Valarie Allman (discus) and Katie Moon (pole vault) will look to defend their golds in Paris.
On the men's side, six-time world champion Noah Lyles headlines the men's 100-meter and 200-meter fields. Ryan Crouser will attempt to become the first field athlete to win three consecutive shot put gold medals.
