Connor Bedard already has an extensive highlight reel on his resume.

From his overtime heroics to the insane shots he pulls off, to his dizzying dangles that leave defenders debating retirement, the Regina Pats star and consensus No. 1 pick in the upcoming NHL draft is constant entertainment.

However, recently Bedard has been trending for another reason — his forearms.

That's right. Bedard's forearms have become a trend on social media, as fans have gotten a look at the tree trunks that are on the center's upper body.

If you're already aware of Bedard's impressive limbs, then this is a fresh reminder of what the prospect brings to the table.

But if you haven't gotten to see part of what makes Bedard such a phenomenal player, then here's some insight into his forearms and his workouts.

Why are Connor Bedard's forearms trending?

The discussion of Bedard's forearms began back in January after the 2023 World Juniors. Team Canada winger and Coyotes forward Dylan Guenther went on Barstool Sports' Spittin' Chiclets podcast to discuss the team's recent gold-medal win.

It was impossible not to talk shop about Bedard, who had a record-breaking performance and capped it off by winning MVP. One of the points that Guenther brought up was just how jacked Bedard is.

"Oh he's juiced, he's huge," Guenther said on the podcast. "He's been like that since U18s too. I couldn't believe how strong he was. Yeah, he's strong."

For anyone that needed proof, Bedard was caught on camera tying his skates before a Regina Pats game without a shirt. It confirmed Guenther's take that Bedard's forearms are pretty impressive.

For anyone that hasn't been following the 17-year-old's rise to stardom, his best quality is his shot. Bedard hasn't skated in a professional hockey game, yet you won't find many players in the world with a better release than the stud 2023 prospect.

It's not a coincidence that the kid with some of the biggest forearms for his age owns the best shot of his age group.

Bedard has never actually posted any of his workouts for his forearms. The 17-year-old isn't overly active on social media and when he is posting, it most certainly is not him showing off his ripped arms.

However, there have been posts from trainers and coaches that discuss exercises that can be used by players in order to get Bedard-like forearms.

@identityshiftcorson Let’s talk forearm strength 💪🏒🔥 Again I know I’m a mental performance coach, but I keep getting requests for this 🤣 He has powerful ability to rotate his top and bottom hand This is the secret #3 𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 N𝗲𝘅𝘁 L𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 A𝗰ademy we will be following a 6 week forearm progression that includes 6 exercises I add this stuff to the program so players can increase there ability while mastering their mental game Hope this helps! #bedard #connorbedard #shootlikebedard #worldjuniors #hockeyskills #confidence #hockeyconfidence #confidencetips #hockeymotivation #motivation#hockeymindset #mentalgame #mindset #hockey ♬ original sound - Identity_SHIFT_Hockey

I’ll admit grip strength is something I’ve ignored in the past but Popeye Bedard has me motivated to start adding in some hand/wrist/forearm training in 2023.

Most of these exercises are focused on grip strength and working the top and bottom of the hand. These workouts can strengthen the wrists and forearms, which are critical components of shooting and handling the puck.

Of course, what's social media without some entertainment? Accounts have poked fun at Bedard's forearms and his love for improving his shot.

The 2023 NHL Draft Lottery is still a couple months away, so the winner of the Bedard sweepstakes has yet to be determined.

But that's plenty of time for fans to daydream about Bedard and his forearms wearing the colors of their favorite team.
