The Bruins have been a wagon all year long, and the team now has a place in NHL history.

Boston broke the NHL record for most wins a season, securing victory No. 63 on Sunday night against the Flyers. The win broke the mark previously achieved by the 1995-96 Red Wings and 2018-19 Lightning

Not content with that mark, however, the Bruins notched their 133rd point with a 5-2 win over the Capitals Tuesday, breaking the previous mark of 132 set by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1976-77 season.

In total, the Bruins ended the year with 65 wins and 135 points.

The 2022-23 season has been magical for Jim Montgomery's crew. The team set a new franchise record for the most points in a season, surpassing the previous total of 121, which was set by the 1970-71 team. The club also broke the club mark for wins in a season, previously set at 57 by the 1970-71 Bruins.

In addition, this year's Boston team is just the fourth team in NHL history to secure 60 wins in a season.

It's no surprise to anyone that has being attention from the start. From Linus Ullmark's Vezina campaign to David Pastrnak's first 100-point season, everything has been going right for the Bruins.

Boston clinched the Presidents' Trophy for the best record in the NHL with seven games left on the schedule. They are the fastest team to 100 points in league history, and the quickest club ever to secure 50 wins in a year as well.

Of course, if you ask any of the members of the organization, they couldn't care less about anything that's not called the Stanley Cup.

"People have talked a lot about some of these records, that we could potentially hit or we have hit," Brad Marchand said in an interview with ESPN. "Nobody cares about those in this room. We could care less about any of these regular-season records. Because they really don't mean anything."

The players may not care about trivial records for the regular season. However, fans do, and The Sporting News is tracking the Bruins as the team approaches the records for most wins and points in a single season.

Bruins record 2022-23

The Bruins ended the 2022-23 regular season with a record of 65-12-5, totaling 135 points.

Boston became the quickest team in NHL history to reach the 100-point threshold, needing just 61 games to do so. The previous record of 62 was held by the 1976-77 Canadiens.

Bruins projected points

The Bruins have already broken the previous record of 132 points. They notched Nos. 132 and 133 Tuesday with a 5-2 win over the Capitals, and ended with 135 after the win against the Canadiens in the season finale.

Bruins projected wins

The Bruins have broken the single-season win record of 62, set by the 1995-96 Red Wings and 2018-19 Lightning.

Boston finished the regular season with 65 wins, three more than the previous mark.

What is the team record for most points in an NHL season?

The Bruins passed the 1976-77 Montreal team for most points by a team in a single season.

The Canadiens went 60-8-12 that season. Back then, games ended in a tie if no one scored in overtime, so the 12 ties Montreal had given them an additional 12 points, one point per tie.

Only one other team that hit 130 points in a season: the 1995-96 Red Wings. That loaded squad came one point shy of tying the Canadiens' record, ending the campaign with 131.
