In the words of the late, great John Madden: Boom.

Typically, football broadcasts stray away from showing field-invading fans as a means to discourage that kind of behavior from anyone who might think about it. That's not the case for Peyton and Eli Manning, who, during Monday's 49ers-Rams matchup, broke down the a fan storming the field in Santa Clara, Calif.

During the second quarter of the "Monday Night Football" matchup, the Mannings called something of an audible and actually showed the video of the fan invading the field, and future Hall of Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner putting a shoulder into the fan's chest.

Manning, who seems to believe that the fan on the field was naked (he was not), was totally pleased by the big hit that Wagner put on the fan with the smoke grenade.

"I thought we could show that — I understand that the A-team can't show that, but the B-team, we should be able to show that," the elder Manning said.

To Manning's point, the booth duo of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the main "Monday Night Football" broadcast avoided the field invader, as main broadcasts tend to do.

Well, there's no greater discouragement than getting trucked by a future Hall of Fame linebacker (and spending a night in jail), don't be surprised if a few more bozos try something similar in the coming weeks.

And should that happen, expect Peyton and Eli to be on the call.

So, too, will Kevin Harlan on the national radio broadcast, who you can always count on for play by play.
