They may be just exhibitions, but the NFL's 2023 preseason games will offer fans a first look at their respective teams since the end of the 2022 season.

That's reason enough to be interested in the preseason schedule, which was released Thursday in conjunction with the 2023 regular-season slate. New coaches, free-agent acquisitions and draftees will provide the major storylines.

How much action can new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers expect to see during the preseason? What about first-round selections Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson with their respective teams? How will the Texans look under first-year coach DeMeco Ryans, or the Panthers under former Colts coach Frank Reich? The answers will be revealed this summer. Other storylines are sure to develop as well.

This year's preseason schedule will feature the same three-game format as in 2022. NFL fans aren't likely to mind, considering that the regular season will be just around the corner.
