"First Take" host Molly Qerim was excited to go through everything that was next for J.J. Watt when he appeared as a guest on the ESPN show Friday.

One of those retirement roles, according to Qerim, was Watt being named the co-host of "The Pat McAfee Show." Stephen A. Smith and Chris Russo were both surprised and congratulated the future Hall of Famer.

The only person more surprised than Smith and Russo might have been Watt himself. Upon being told of his new role, Watt responded: "Am I?" Qerim said she was told that was the case, to which Watt said that it wasn't the case.

"Did you send me a contract that I'm unaware of?" Watt said. "This is great for television."

The former Texan and Cardinal later took to Twitter to double down on his surprise from the earlier segment on "First Take."

He and the show then went on to have a brief back-and-forth on Twitter about the possibility.

Watt has been involved with "The Pat McAfee Show" in the past. He filled in for A.J. Hawk in March, but has not been a regular with the show. The title on the video could certainly be a bit misleading.

It has been a busy retirement for Watt between becoming a new father, him joining the Burnley FC ownership group and hinting at a possible podcast with his brother, T.J. Watt. If he were to add co-hosting McAfee to his plate, it might be a busy retirement for Watt.

Fortunately for him, it sounds like that isn't in the cards just yet.
