The Indianapolis Colts moved back six spots after a trade in the second round and wound up selecting Texas WR Adonai Mitchell with the No. 52 pick in the draft.
The trade back with the Carolina Panthers was a move most were expecting from Chris Ballard after he stuck with the No. 15 pick in the first round—they took edge rusher Laiatu Latu with that selection.
While Mitchell reportedly had a rough pre-draft process when it came to interviews, the Colts felt the value was far too good to pass up. This is especially true after trading back.
Getting Anthony Richardson some explosive weapons to work with was a major goal for the Colts, and they achieved that in a big way with the selection.
