It's a matter of when, not if, Caleb Williams hears his name called first overall at the 2024 NFL Draft.

The star quarterback at USC has been long regarded as the top prospect in this year's draft class, and with the Bears parting ways with Justin Fields, it has paved the way for Williams to take over as the starter in Chicago.

There is not much left for Williams to do to raise his draft stock, which is through the roof as is. However, after skipping workouts at the NFL Combine earlier in the month, the junior signal-caller is taking part in the Trojans' Pro Day, giving NFL scouts one last look at what he's bringing to the professional level.

His performance might not move the needle as much as other aspects of the day, such as height, weight, and hand measurements. Experts love to obsess over how tall quarterbacks are, but that has not deterred clubs from taking shorter QBs. Just look at last year's draft when the Panthers took Bryce Young, who is listed at 5-10 and among the shorter QBs in the league.

Williams isn't going to tower over offensive lines, so how tall is he? Here are details about the USC QB's height, weight, and more.

Caleb Williams height, weight

Williams' height and weight were measured at USC's Pro Day. The quarterback came in at 6--0 7/8 inches and was weighed in at 217 pounds.

That is slightly shorter and a little heavier than his measurements from the NFL Combine. In Indianapolis, Williams was measured at 6-1 1/8 inches and weighed in at 214 pounds.

Shortest NFL quarterbacks

Williams is not overly tall for his position. At just over 6-0, the USC QB is going to be among the shorter NFL quarterbacks currently in the league.

Last year, Bryce Young and Kyler Murray were tied for the shortest quarterbacks in the NFL. Both are listed at 5-10, two inches shorter than Williams.

The shortest height ever for a QB in the NFL is 5-7, although that measurement hasn't been seen since the 1980s. Davey O'Brien and Eddie LeBaron are tied as the shortest quarterbacks to carve out a career in the league.

Here is a look at the shortest QBs ever in the NFL, based on "official" heights.

QB Height
Eddie LeBaron 5-7
Davey O'Brien 5-7
Doug Flutie 5-10
Bryce Young 5-10
Kyler Murray 5-10
Russell Wilson 5-11
Sonny Jurgenson 5-11
Pat Haden 5-11
Seneca Wallace 5-11

Caleb Williams hand size

In addition to height and weight, another key calculation for quarterbacks is the size of their hands. Williams' hands were measured at 9 7/8 at USC's Pro Day.

The average hand size for the 39 QBs taken in the first round from 2008-20 is 9.7 inches, per ESPN Stats & Information. Williams is right around the median in the NFL.

Caleb Williams 40 time

Williams did not run at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, so there is no official time for him in the 40-yard dash.

However, multiple websites have reported that Williams ran a 4.57 seconds at some point, although it is not known when he ran that time.
