Just when it looked like the Lakers were set to steal homecourt advantage from the Nuggets, the reigning champions showcased their mettle in Game 2.

Denver authored a stunning 20-point second-half comeback, punctuated by a game-winning, step-back jumper from Jamal Murray over Anthony Davis at the buzzer. The Nuggets have now won ten consecutive games against the Lakers, with six of those wins occurring in the playoffs.

Now, with their backs firmly against the walls, the Lakers will look to bounce back as the series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday night.

Anthony Davis (32 points) and LeBron James (26.5 points, 10 assists) have sliced through Denver's defense, but the Lakers will need more from their role players. In Game 2, D'Angelo Russell rose to the occasion, scoring 23 points on seven 3-pointers.

But Los Angeles simply could not put Denver away. Jamal Murray, with a sterling reputation for his playoff exploits, notched 14 of his 20 points in the final quarter. Michael Porter Jr. added 22 points, including a late game-tying 3-pointer. And Nikola Jokic is averaging a cool 29.5 points, 16 rebounds, and 8.5 assists through the first two games.

Can the Lakers get back in the series and resolve their Denver woes? Or do the Nuggets take a convincing 3-0 lead?
