Two of the best teams in baseball face off as the Braves host the Rangers on Friday, April 19.

The Braves (12-5) are off to a strong start, on the heels of back-to-back 100-win regular seasons. Marcell Ozuna is currently pacing Atlanta with eight home runs (tied with Mike Trout for the most in MLB) and a 1.135 OPS.

The record is all the more impressive considering the slew of injuries that Atlanta is facing: Star right-handed pitcher Spencer Strider is out for the season with an elbow injury, while All-Star second baseman Ozzie Albies is sidelined with a fractured toe.

The Rangers, meanwhile, are hovering around .500 a year after winning the franchise's first World Series title. Texas, too, is dealing with a rash of injuries: Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, Josh Jung, and Nathaniel Lowe are all sidelined.

But a powerful lineup still features Adolis Garcia, Corey Seager, and Marcus Semien, each of whom is off to a respectable start in 2024.
