Through the opening three games of the ALCS, the Yankees' bats have been dormant.
Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and the rest of the New York lineup hasn't been able to handle the Astros' dominant pitching. The Bronx Bombers have recorded just 12 hits and four runs in the series.
All of that amounts to a commanding 3-0 lead for Houston, a seemingly insurmountable edge, particularly against a team that has looked as flat as the Yankees have.

The test will only get harder for New York in Game 4. Houston is handing the ball to right-hander Lance McCullers, who has tended to dominate the Yanks. In five career starts against them, McCullers has a 2.97 ERA and has yet to lose a game.
He has already proved his worth in this postseason — McCullers held the Mariners to two hits over six innings in Game 3 of the ALDS to help the Astros complete a series sweep.
New York — and its manager, Aaron Boone — are in a precarious position, with dire consequences for some team personnel looming.
