NFL Week 3 Weather Updates: Some rain, wind in forecast might affect fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions

Weather wasn't much of a factor last week, and based on the Week 3 NFL weather forecast, it shouldn't be much of an issue this week either despite some wind for Steelers-Browns and rain late for a few games around the league. As always, though, RotoGrinders' meteorologist Kevin Roth will be here throughout the weekend to help us break down the weather updates you need to know ahead of your fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions.

Before we get into the Week 3 forecasts, here's a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don't hesitate to reach out to RotoGrinders' meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:

NFL Week 3 weather forecast and updates

Forecasts courtesy for Kevin Roth at RotoGrinders

Steelers @ Browns. There's a slight chance of rain on Thursday, but more worrisome is the 20-30-mph winds expected. Given how weak both team's passing games are, this could be the final nail in the coffin on starting anyone other than Diontae Johnson, Amari Cooper, and Pat Freiermuth (and even they're riskier). Both kickers get bumps down, too.

WEEK 3 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Raiders @ Titans. With a 25-percent chance of rain and winds around 10 mph, conditions won't be ideal, but they shouldn't affect Derek Carr, Davante Adams, or Darren Waller. None of the Titans' receivers are worth playing, but that has nothing to do with the weather. (Update: The chance for rain has dropped to around 10 percent, so this game isn't really a worry at all.)

WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Bengals @ Jets. There's a good chance of rain and about 10-mph winds hitting this game late in the second half. Because of the late-arriving storm, you can't let it affect your start 'em, sit 'em decisions with guys like Tee Higgins, Joe Burrow, or even Garrett Wilson.

RotoGrinders-Weather-Edge

Bills @ Dolphins. There's a good chance this game sees some showers (30-50 percent), but it's unclear how strong or sustained it will be. Given the elite talent on both offenses, you shouldn't worry about this affecting Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Josh Allen, or Stefon Diggs (or Gabriel Davis if he plays) unless the forecast worsens.

WEEK 3 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo

Texans @ Bears. There's a 25-percent chance of rain and 15-plus-mph winds, which could cause problems for two already poor passing games. Brandin Cooks is the only "must-start" player among the QBs, WRs, and TEs. (Update: Winds are now expected to reach 25-plus mph.)

WEEK 3 DFS: Best values | Best stacks

Eagles @ Commanders. There's a 50-percent chance for rain late in this one, but that's not enough to stop you from starting any usual players in these high-powered offenses.

All of this is subject to change as we get closer to kickoff. You can follow meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) and check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. For the best weather-related fantasy advice, take a look at WeatherEdge.
