According to sources, the March 30 non-title bout between WBO 154-pound champion Tim Tszyu and former unified welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman has been postponed due to the latter picking up an injury.

ThaBoxingVoice and Dan Rafael were the first to report the news on Twitter/X.

Scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, this was the inaugural main event for PBC’s new partnership with Amazon.

Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision win over Brian Mendoza in October. It was the Australian’s first defense of the WBO title he was awarded when prior champion Jermell Charlo failed to fulfill a mandatory obligation to face him, the interim champion at the time.

Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) has been inactive since March 2022 when he outpointed Mario Barrios. Before that, the Florida native had been out of action since losing the WBA welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao in July 2019.

Why has Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman been postponed?

Thurman, 35, has reportedly sustained an injury to his bicep, possibly from sparring.

An MRI was carried out on Monday, though the results are yet to be released.

Who will replace Keith Thurman?

According to Lance Pugmire of BoxingScene, the PBC is pursuing a replacement opponent for the 29-year-old Tszyu. Top contender Sebastian Fundora is the frontrunner.

Fundora is supposed to fight Serhii Bohachuk for the vacant WBC super welterweight title. Per Dan Rafael, Tszyu vs. Fundora would be for the vacant WBC super welterweight title and Tszyu's WBO belt, per the WBO's approval.

It is unknown who Bohachuk would fight if Fundora faced Tszyu.

The event will reportedly remain a PPV broadcast with WBA super lightweight champion Rolly Romero facing Isaac Cruz in the co-main event.
