There hasn’t been an undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield in 1999. That all changes when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk face off on May 18. The fight in Saudi Arabia airs on DAZN PPV and ESPN+ in the U.S., and TNT Sports in the U.K.

Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, has forced the fight to get delayed twice. He misjudged the skills of Francis Ngannou in October and got a cut sparring to start 2024 . Not one to have a Hercules-like physique, the extra time off has allowed “The Gypsy King” to be in the best shape of his career.

That fact is something Fury is worried about, for the health of Usyk at least.

“I’m actually frightened of where I am at the moment, and that’s a fact,” Fury said during a press event via The Independent. “I won’t lie to you, I’m actually terrified of where I am at the moment because I’m ready to go this weekend – and I’ve got five more weekends to go.”
