With the 2022/23 Premier League season in the books, it's time to look ahead to the coming campaign.
The 2023/24 Premier League season will kick off on August 12, 2023, with fixtures announced on June 15.
The newly promoted clubs, Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town will hope to emulate the feat of the 2022/23 promoted group and retain their Premier league status. But the oddsmakers still include them among the candidates for relegation in the new season.
Additionally, the likes of Everton, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and the others who narrowly escaped relegation the last time out are also expected to be in the relegation mix.
The Sporting News looks at what the betting market says about the teams likely facing the drop in the upcoming campaign.

Premier League relegation odds 2023/24
Unsurprisingly, the early favourite to go down is newly promoted side Luton Town, who were the last team to earn a ticket to the Premier League.
Luton finished in third place in the second-tier Championship in 2022/23, but had to work hard through the playoffs to earn their way up. The Hatters topped Coventry City on penalties at Wembley Stadium to secure the final promotion spot.
Other newly promoted sides Sheffield United and Burnley are also among the five most likely to go down, which is often the case with every new Premier League season, as the teams moving up from the second-tier Championship are automatically considered among the weakest.
At least one newly promoted side has been dumped back down to the second tier in all but three Premier League seasons (since 1992/93).
In recent campaigns, the trio of Fulham, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest all found a way to stay up in 2022/23, while Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield similarly remained afloat in 2017/18 upon their return among the elite.
On the flip side, it is also rare that all three newly promoted sides are sent back down the next season, only happening once in the Premier League era, when Bolton, Barnsley and Crystal Palace were all dropped back down in the 1997/98 campaign. Otherwise, in every other season, at least one established Premier League side has been sent down, while at least one newly promoted club earns safety.
