Sinner has been in exceptional form at the Australian Open.
He has only dropped one set so far – against 10-time champion Novak Djokovic in a tiebreak – and it is his performance against the Serbian that has placed him firmly as the favourite for the final.
If he can replicate that showing on Sunday night, he will likely secure his maiden grand slam title.
Despite this, it is still a little surprising to see Medvedev as a fairly comfortable bookmakers' underdog.
The Russian has considerably more experience than his opponent, competing in five grand slam finals.
It is a concern, though, that he has lost four of those deciders.
Another major challenge will be competing physically with Sinner – the Italian has spent less than 15 hours on court this tournament, while Medvedev has played for over 20 hours.
If the match goes the distance, can he keep up with a fresh Sinner?
Or can a wily Medvedev hold his nerve and defeat a young gun in his grand slam final debut?

Importantly, five of those wins have come on hard courts.
While Medvedev has the overall head-to-head advantage, Sinner did win their last three encounters, including their semi at the ATP Finals last year.
