Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been ruled out of the fourth and fifth T20Is against New Zealand following an official press release from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). 

Pakistan and New Zealand are currently contesting in a five-match T20I series in Pakistan, of which three T20Is have been played already.

The series scoreline stands at 1-1 after the first T20I was abandoned due to rain. Pakistan won the second T20I in Lahore, before the Kiwis levelled the series in the third T20I in Rawalpindi.

PCB provides fitness update on Mohammad Rizwan

On Wednesday, April 24, the PCB issued an official press release to provide a fitness update on Rizwan as well as Mohammad Irfan Khan.

According to the press release, Rizwan and Irfan Khan will be rested for the remaining two T20Is. Their fitness will be monitored by the medical team at Pakistan's National Cricket Academy. 

PCB Medical Panel yesterday received Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand.

The two players will work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA.

Rizwan experienced discomfort in his hamstring during the third T20I in Rawalpindi, forcing him to walk off the field retired hurt.

Pakistan and New Zealand will play the next two games on Thursday (April 25) and Saturday (April 27), with both games taking place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
