FIFA 21 Icons: Players, ratings & full list of new FUT legends

Every year, EA Sports rolls out a new 'class' of FIFA Ultimate Team Icons as game-makers resurrect the glory days of some of the best players in football history.

The new Icons in FIFA 21 will join a considerable cast of former stars, which already includes the likes of Johan Cruyff, George Best and Ronaldinho, among others.

Last year, FIFA 20 bedazzled fans with the addition of Zinedine Zidane to the Icons roster, with Pep Guardiola and Ronald Koeman also joining the throwback crew.

So, what about this year? Which new players are in FIFA 21's 'Class of 21'? Goal has all the details, including ratings, below...

David Beckham

Overall ratings: 87 | 92 | 89

Legendary Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham is the headline addition to FIFA 21 as a FUT Icon, rekindling an association with EA Sports for the first time in 23 years.

One of Beckham's overall ratings in the game - from the 2003-04 season - will be 86. As expected, Beckham's passing is his best attribute, with his shooting and dribbling skills following.

His three FUT Icon cards come in at overall ratings of: 87, 92 and 89.

Eric Cantona

Eric Cantona

Overall ratings: 88 | 93 | 90

As well as Beckham, another iconic Manchester United No. 7 joins the cadre of classic stars on FIFA 21: Eric Cantona.

The man known as 'King Eric' at Old Trafford has an impressive rating on the game and his inclusion will allow you to relive the glory days of the 1990s.

Petr Cech

Petr Cech

Overall ratings: 86 | 91 | 88

Petr Cech established himself as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world during his time in the Premier League with Chelsea and he carried on into his late 30s at Arsenal before hanging up his gloves (though he has returned as an emergency goalkeeper for Chelsea!).

There are not many goalkeeper Icons on FIFA so Cech joins an exclusive club, which includes Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar and Lev Yashin.

Ashley Cole

Ashley Cole

Overall ratings: 85 | 89 | 87

Regarded as one of England's best-ever left-backs, Ashley Cole makes his bow as an Icon in FIFA 21.

A winner of multiple Premier League titles across his spells with Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as a Champions League winner, Cole's career spanned two decades from the turn of the millennium.

Samuel Eto'o

One of the greatest African footballers of all time, Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o joins the growing array of stars on FIFA 21 and his ratings reflect his stature in the game.

Eto'o was a prolific goalscorer for club and country, helping to propel both Barcelona and Inter to Champions League glory in his prime years.

Philipp Lahm

Philipp Lahm

Overall ratings: 87 | 91 | 89

Pep Guardiola hailed Philipp Lahm as one of the most intelligent and talented footballers he has ever worked with, so it is little surprise to see him included as an Icon in FIFA 21.

The former Bayern Munich full-back, who later transitioned into a midfielder, won eight Bundesliga titles, the Champions League and a World Cup during the course of his career before retiring in his mid-thirties.

Ferenc Puskas

Ferenc Puskas

Overall ratings: 89 | 94 | 92

Ferenc Puskas is one of Real Madrid's best-ever players and his contribution to the club's glittering history is not forgotten at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A small but powerful forward, Puskas also led Hungary - The Magical Magyars - to the World Cup final in 1958 and scored 84 times in 85 games for them.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Overall ratings: 87 | 91 | 89

Bastian Schweinsteiger joins his compatriot Lahm in FIFA 21 Icons Class of 21 having followed a similar career trajectory with Bayern Munich and Germany.

Affectionately known as "Schweini" in Germany, the all-action midfielder was a crucial component in the engine room for both club and country as they dominated the 2010s onward.

Davor Suker

Davor Suker

Overall ratings: 85 | 90 | 87

Luka Modric may have won the Ballon d'Or, but Davor Suker remains the most iconic footballer to emerge from Croatia (for now, at least!)

Suker was the key man for Croatia in the 1990s, helping them to a third-place finish at the 1998 World Cup, a tournament in which he won the Golden Shoe. The striker starred for Sevilla and Real Madrid before winding down his career with spells at Arsenal and West Ham.

Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres

Overall ratings: 85 | 91 | 88

A legend at both Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, Fernando Torres was a terrifying prospect for any defence during his prime years, boasting power and pace.

Indeed, El Nino rose to the occasion for club and country, scoring in two European Championship finals and getting a crucial goal in Chelsea's successful Champions League campaign of 2011-12, with a last-minute strike against Barcelona in the semi-final.

Nemanja Vidic

Nemanja Vidic

Overall ratings: 85 | 90 | 88

Manchester United haven't had a defender like Nemanja Vidic since his departure from Old Trafford in 2014.

A Serbia international, the centre-back was ferocious in the tackle and provided a perfect foil to the more ball-playing Rio Ferdinand during the Red Devils' last truly successful period. Vidic helped United to five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

Xavi

Xavi

Overall ratings: 88 | 93 | 90

While Lionel Messi deservedly gets praise for his leadership at Barcelona, he has Xavi Hernandez to thank for guidance during the club's succesful period under Pep Guardiola.

The diminutive playmaker was a crucial component in the tiki-taka era, making the Catalan club and Spain tick.

Xavi won eight La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, two European Championships and a World Cup as part of some of the best teams of all time.
