Browns defensive end Myles Garrett spoke to reporters for the first time since suffering minor injuries in a single-car accident on Monday afternoon.

Garrett, who was diagnosed with a sprained shoulder, strained biceps, cut wrist and bloodshot eye, told the media that he was "grateful to be alive" after seeing pictures of the wreck.

"Definitely a wakeup call for me," Garrett said. "Just try to be smart, overall, with driving. You know, don't take it for granted that I'm able to still be here."

Garrett's 2021 Porsche flipped multiple times after Garrett swerved to avoid an animal on the wet road. Garrett and a female passenger who had been in the car with him were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos taken at the scene were harrowing. Garrett's car suffered extensive damage as a result of the wreck.

Per Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, Garrett acknowledged that he did bump his head during the crash. The 26-year old wasn't diagnosed with a concussion, but Garrett admitted that Tua Tagovailoa's injury on Thursday makes him a little more hesitant to put the pads on so quickly.

Garrett sat out his third straight day of practice on Friday. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, but said that if he had it his way, he'd "love to" play.

"That's up to the training staff and the coaches," Garrett said. "If it were up to me, I'd love to go. That's just my competitive spirit and my nature. Physically, we have to access that going up to the game today, tomorrow and on Sunday. But that's just a decision we'll make a little bit closer to game time."
