Just when the Bears thought they could feel secure about their kicking situation, it's time to worry once again.

Eddy Pineiro showed up on the injury report Saturday with a right knee issue. The team said he was limited in practice and is questionable for Monday night's game at Washington.

Coach Matt Nagy told reporters Pineiro suffered a minor knee injury in the weight room Friday, but expressed optimism that he'll be able to kick in Week 3.

"I think we'll be OK," Nagy said. "We just have to see how it goes the next couple days."

Asked who might kick if Pineiro is unable to go, Nagy said only: "That's a good question. We have to work through that."

Pineiro declined to speak to reporters after practice Saturday.

A 58-yarder against the Colts in the preseason had Bears fans hoping the undrafted free agent might be the answer to their long-running kicking woes, and Pineiro hasn't disappointed.

The 24-year-old Miami native became an instant hero in Chicago when his 53-yard field goal beat the Broncos in Week 2 after he converted from 52 earlier in the game.

Now Bears fans will have to hold their breath and hope their new savior is good to go for Monday night.
