Week 14 fantasy QB rankings

The season feels like it's flown by, as we’ve reached the final week of the fantasy football regular season. Whether you’re already locked into a playoff spot, fighting to clinch a bid, or trying to play spoiler, our Week 14 fantasy QB rankings are more important than ever with six teams on bye and a handful of key QBs banged up.

This is the last week in which teams are idle, which is always a relief ahead of the postseason. However, it's not-so-good news for the time being. Not having players to start from the Colts, Packers, Bears, Saints, Commanders, and Falcons certainly stings, but it’s not as impactful at the QB position relative to others. Justin Fields is far and away the biggest loss of the Week 14 bye-week QBs, but Aaron Rodgers’ and Marcus Mariota’s losses dry up some of the QB pool.

Additionally, with Lamar Jackson (knee) and Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) going down in Week 13 and Matthew Stafford (neck) getting placed on IR, three other starting-caliber QBs are taken off the board. In last week’s waiver-wire watchlist, we highlighted Jared Goff (vs. Vikings in Week 14), Ryan Tannehill (vs. Jaguars), Mac Jones (vs. Cardinals), and John Wolford (vs. Raiders) as viable bye-week and injury fill-ins.

WEEK 14 STANDARD RANKINGS:
RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Goff’s the clear-cut top option, as he and the Lions continue to light up defenses and now face a subpar Vikings secondary. The other QB options aren’t flashy whatsoever, but Tannehill, Jones, and Wolford could provide stable-enough floors to keep your lineup competitive in deeper leagues. Tyler Huntley’s (@ Steelers) dual-threat ability makes him an intriguing play if Jackson is out, and we like him even more than Jones and Wolford.

WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS:
RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Kyler Murray (vs. Patriots) and Tom Brady (@ 49ers) are ranked a bit lower than usual with tougher matchups. Murray is still a must-start in 12-team formats, as the Patriots' defense has shown some vulnerability this season, but Brady is likely a stay-away facing a 49ers defense that entered Week 13 allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to QBs (13.8). Other borderline QBs with tough matchups include Dak Prescott (vs. Texans) and Deshaun Watson (@ Bengals), the latter of which looked beyond rusty in his season debut. We'd still start Prescott, but Watson is truly on the bubble. Chances are, if you own him, you have a better option on your roster.

WEEK 14 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Conversely, Kirk Cousins (@ Lions), Trevor Lawrence (@ Titans), and Derek Carr (@ Rams) profile as startable QB1s with favorable matchups this week. Cousins draws a juicy matchup against a Lions defense that’s struggled most of the season, while Lawrence and Carr could also finish as top-10 QBs against defenses that entered Week 12 in the top 12 in passing yards allowed. Russell Wilson (vs. Chiefs) also has a favorable matchup, but we've seen enough of him and the Broncos' offense to know that a big game is unlikely.

WEEK 14 DFS: Best stacks | Best values

At this point of the season, you don't want to get too cute at QB. You can try to play the matchups with bubble guys, but there's no need to reach for someone like Goff over, say, Joe Burrow (vs. Browns) just because he has a much better matchup. Could Goff outscore Burrow? Of course, but you don't want to miss the playoffs because you took that chance.
