USC QB Caleb Williams has a Heisman under this belt. This season, he's looking to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.
To that end, Williams begins his defense of college football's most prestigious trophy against the Nevada Wolf Pack, who open the season against a USC team in its final season in the Pac-12.
USC's near-playoff-worthy 2022 fell just short when it lost the Pac-12 Championship to Utah and ended with a dud against Tulane in the Cotton Bowl despite a five-touchdown game from Williams.
That game was played without Jordan Addison, so Williams seems like he'll be just fine without the Trojans' top receiver from last season. He passed the test, but the USC defense has to be better if Southern California will be able to make its first playoff appearance in the College Football Playoff era.

Nevada is hoping to field a strong defense against the Trojans' high-powered offense. The Wolf Pack went 2-10 last season and 0-8 in the Mountain West. They're hoping for better results this go-round, starting with a competitive game against the high-powered Trojans.
