The momentum from Scottie Barnes' All-Star season has come to a screeching halt.

In the first half of a loss to the Warriors on March 1, Barnes appeared to be in serious pain as he exited with an apparent hand injury. The setback came less than two weeks after Barnes made his All-Star debut. It also interrupted a span of impressive play.

What is Scottie Barnes' injury?

Barnes suffered a fracture to the third metacarpal bone of his left hand. This bone is located at the base of the middle finger and the fracture required surgery, per the Raptors.

Barnes suffered the injury toward the end of the first half of Toronto's loss to Golden State on March 1. As Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga cut to the basket, Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley attempted to defend the play but inadvertently kicked Barnes in the left hand after a collision.
