Six-time NBA All-Star Amar'e Stoudemire to play in China

Amar'e Stoudemire is heading overseas.

The former NBA star has signed a deal to play for the Fujian Sturgeons in the Chinese Basketball Association this season, the team announced.

Stoudemire, a six-time All-Star, played in Ice Cube's Big3 and most recently played overseas in Israel in 2017.

Stoudemire, 36, spent 15 NBA seasons with the Suns, Knicks, Mavericks and Heat after being selected ninth overall in the 2002 draft out of high school by Phoenix. He last played in the NBA in 2016 for Miami and retired as a Knick that offseason, averaging 18.9 points per game and 7.8 rebounds over his career.

He joins Lance Stephenson and Jeremy Lin, who will play for the Liaoning Flying Leopards and Beijing Ducks, respectively, this upcoming season in China.
