Jiri Prochazka was nearly finished on several occasions but somehow found a way to rally and submit Glover Teixeira in the final minute to win the light heavyweight title in a Fight of the Year candidate at UFC 275 in Singapore on Saturday night.

Both men almost finished each other at various points in the fight. Prochazka's striking and body punching had the 42-year-old Brazilian in trouble, while Teixeira's grappling and ground game smothered the Czech fighter.

Santos controlled the champion early, surprising Shevchenko with her strength in the clinch and takedowns. But a clash of heads in the third round produced significant swelling on Santos' face and compromised the challenger.

Shevchenko used her striking and a few takedowns to take the decision. The two scores in her favor were 48-47 and 49-46. The third judge saw the fight 48-47 for Santos.

Weili Zhang scored a stunning second-round knockout of Joanna Jedrzejczyk with a spinning backfist in a rematch of their epic 2020 encounter. Zhang earned another shot at the women's strawweight title with the win. Jedrzejczyk announced her retirement following the loss.
