Why are MLB games on Apple TV+?

For the third consecutive season, MLB and Apple are furthering their partnership to air a weekly doubleheader exclusively on the streaming platform over the course of the next 26 weeks.

Though fans will have to have an Apple TV+ subscription to watch the action, there will be no local broadcast restrictions on such games.

What's new to MLB on Apple TV+ in 2024?

Apple TV+ is returning its broadcast crew from the past season, with Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Alex Faust (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter), and Heidi Watney (sideline reporter) leading the coverage.

The pregame and postgame shows will include Lauren Gardner, Xavier Scruggs, and Russell Dorsey, and will be held live at various stadiums throughout the season.

As an alternative to the Apple TV+ announcers, fans will also be able to listen to the participating teams' radio feeds during the broadcast.

Apple TV+ also will air a whiparound show called "MLB Big Inning" on weeknights in the U.S.
