Ferrari ended Toyota's dominance at 24 hours of Le Mans in 2023, when Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Per Guidi and James Calado drove their team to a victory.
That group finished third at the race in 2024, but Ferrari earned its second victory in as many years thanks to a strong showing from Nickas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina in the No. 50 car.
Ferrari's No. 50 car finished 311 laps during the 24 hours of Le Mans. They beat Toyota Gazoo Racing's trio of Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez by 14 seconds despite enduring some issues during the latter stages of the race.
While Nielsen was driving, one of the No. 50 car's doors began to flap rapidly. He had to bring the car back to the pits, which allowed competitors to gain ground on him.
Nonetheless, Ferrari pulled out the victory, marking their second consecutive win after having gone without a victory since 1965. It marked the company's 11th Le Mans win, good for the third-most ever behind Porsche (19 wins) and Audi (13 wins).
