Australin rugby union fans have been given a fascinating glimpse behind the curtain of the Wallabies’ doomed World Cup campaign under the returning Eddie Jones when Stan released 'The Wallabies - Inside Rugby World Cup 2023' documentary in February.

The three-part series offers behind-the-scenes access of Jones’ failed second spell in charge after taking the reins seven months out from the Rugby World Cup in France.

Australia crashed out of rugby’s showpiece event in spectacular fashion, failing to reach the quarter-final stage for the first time in the country’s history as Jones’ tenure came to a screeching halt amidst plenty of controversy.

The exclusive series, created by production company CJZ in conjunction with Karlinberg Entertainment, tracks the journey the side went on during the tumultuous time.

The cameras are always on hand to capture the drama that developed in The Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup before culminating in their chaotic Rugby World Cup showing last year.

The series will be broadcast in February exclusively on Stan with all three episodes released at once.

The doco gleans insights from Jones as he attempted to turn the fortunes of the national side around and deliver the nation its first Rugby World Cup since 1999.

Jones took over from Dave Rennie on an initial five-year deal after previously leading the Aussies from 2001 to 2005.

"It is a major coup for Australian rugby to have the best coach in the world return home to coach the iconic Wallabies and to oversee the Wallaroos program," RA chairman, Hamish McLennan, said upon his appointment.

"Eddie’s deep understanding of our rugby system and knowledge of our player group and pathways will lift the team to the next level."

Alongside the former England and Japan coach, the series will also feature a host of big names, including Michael Hooper - who was controversially dropped from the side - and the likes of James Slipper and fan-favourite Taniela Tupou who will all reflect on the state of Australian rugby.
