Million Dollar Chase 2022: When is it, how to watch, prize money, box draw and odds for world's richest greyhound race

The world's richest greyhound race event is about to reach its exciting conclusion, with the Million Dollar Chase grand final to take place on Saturday.

As the event's name suggests, the winning dog and trainer will walk away $1 million richer.

When is the Million Dollar Chase 2022?

The final of the Million Dollar Chase will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Notably, it is being held just four months after the 2021 edition, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

As the tenth and final event on Saturday's card, the race is scheduled for 10:30 pm (AEST). 

The eight semi-finals were held on Friday, September 16, with the winner of each race earning a spot in the final.

Where is the Million Dollar Chase held?

Wentworth Park will host the Million Dollar Chase.

Located in the suburb of Glebe, it is Sydney's only city greyhound racetrack and has an approximate crowd capacity of 10,000.

The final will be held over 520m, which sees the greyhounds complete just over one full lap of the track.

Million Dollar Chase 2022 full prize money

Whilst the winning dog and trainer will walk away with $1 million, significant prize money will be handed out to the other grand finalists.

Million Dollar Chase 2022 box draw

The official box draw took place immediately after Friday night's semi-finals, with the eight successful greyhounds (and two reserve runners) given their respective boxes for the final.

How to watch Million Dollar Chase 2022

For those who can't make it to Wentworth Park, the Million Dollar Chase will be broadcast live on Fox League (channel 502 on Foxtel or via Kayo). 

The race will be shown following the Saturday night NRL preliminary final. 

It will also be broadcast on Sky Racing, along with every other race from the card on the night.

With the final eight dogs now decided, the betting market is fairly open for this year's race.

Five runners are priced at under $10, with Zipping Kyrgios the slight favourite at $3.80.

Who won the last Million Dollar Chase?

The 2021 edition of the Million Dollar Chase was postponed due to COVID-19 but was eventually held in May this year.

It was won by She's A Pearl, who bolted to an early lead from Box 4 and comfortably held on to secure victory.
