The last time we saw Ben Simmons on an NBA court was Game 7 of the 2021 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

There was hope that he would suit up at some point in the 2021-22 season, but the three-time All-Star ended up missing all 82 games for a number of reasons. The good news for the Nets is that Simmons has been cleared to play after undergoing back surgery and recently told JJ Redick that he's in a much better place mentally.

Does that mean Simmons will play in the team's preseason opener on Monday? Here's what we know about his status.

Simmons is not listed on Brooklyn's injury report for its preseason matchup with Philadelphia, setting the stage for him to make his Nets debut.
