Jon Heyman sets off ‘Arson Judge’ firestorm with premature Aaron Judge to Giants report

The stove is hot. Or is it? Don't ask Jon Heyman, who reported - and quickly retracted - a report that Aaron Judge was headed to the Giants on Tuesday.

In fact, an overzealous Heyman initially reported 'Arson Judge" to the Giants news.

That tweet was quickly deleted and replaced with another that spelled Judge's first name correctly, but that tweet was also scrapped after Heyman clarified no deal is done as of yet.

Giants CEO Larry Baer also publicly discredited the report.

It's egg on the face for Heyman, no doubt.

And predictably, because the internet always wins, the memes surrounding 'Arson Judge' came in hot and heavy, roasting Heyman for the fateful combination of the typo and a premature report.

While Judge could very well end up choosing his hometown Giants over a return to the Yankees, the memes will follow Heyman for the foreseeable future.

Judge, meanwhile, might be taking a new nickname with him to San Francisco if that's where he winds up.
