Read on below to see which notable players will be off-contract in 2019.
Cooper Cronk
Current deal: $2 million for two years at the Sydney Roosters
Market interest: Cronk hasn't been linked to any clubs for 2020, but is rumoured to be considering early retirement at the end of his Roosters contract. However, his future is already in doubt after the playmaker took to the field against the Melbourne Storm in the 2018 NRL grand final, despite suffering a fractured scapular in his left shoulder in the preliminary final against South Sydney.
Valentine Holmes
Current deal: $850 000 per year until end of 2019 season at Cronulla Sharks
Market Interest: The Cowboys are keen to lure Holmes back home to North Queensland, but his future still remains uncertain.
Of course, there's still the matter of that NFL interest as well...
Cameron Munster
Current deal: $850 000 per year at Melbourne Storm until 2020
Market interest: Cronulla Sharks have previously been rumoured to be luring Munster to the Shire, but the fullback is said to be also considering Sydney Roosters or staying in Melbourne.
However, the retirement of Jonathan Thurston has left open salary cap space for another big signing in North Queensland.
Luke Brooks
Current deal: Brooks is currently on a $550k per year contract at the Wests Tigers until 2020.
Market interest: Brooks has voiced his preference to remain at the Wests Tigers but it's unclear what will happen as his contract ends alongside coach Ivan Cleary. However, since the Panthers have extended Nathan Cleary's contract until 2024, Brooks is no longer in danger of being booted for his coach's son.
Tariq Sims
Current deal: $500k per year at St George Illawarra Dragons until the end of 2019.
Market interest: An unexpected star of the 2018 season, Sims has previously been tipped to join rival clubs but seems settled in the Red V.
Benji Marshall
Current deal: Marshall re-signed with the Wests Tigers for a one year extension, bringing his contract to the end of 2019.
Market interest: With Robbie Farah's contract extended for an additional year, it's likely that the duo will retire together at the end of next season.
George Burgess
Current deal: Signed to South Sydney Rabbitohs until the end of 2019, alongside brothers Sam and Tom.
Market interest: As Sam Burgess has re-signed a four year contract extension, it's highly likely that George Burgess will remain next to his brother.
Tom Burgess
Current deal: Contracted with South Sydney Rabbitohs until the end of 2019.
Market interest: Like twin brother George, Tom will most likely stay at Souths after Sam extended his contract by four years. The trio share the same agent so will probably look to stay on at the Bunnies.
Corey Norman
Current deal: This year Norman is on $750k deal at Parramatta, but this will increase to $920k next year.
Market interest: After a disappointing season, it's rumoured that the Eels have been trying to shop around Norman but no club is willing to pay big bucks for him. While Canberra and Newcastle were linked to the Queenslander for a while, the latest interest has reportedly been from Huddersfield in England.
Mitchell Moses
Current deal: Contracted with the Parramatta Eels until the end of the 2019 season.
Market interest: Jack Bird and Mitchell Moses were reportedly close to completing a player swap at the end of the season but the deal was intercepted by Broncos coach Wayne Bennett. Since Bennett's contract is set to terminate at the end of 2019, Brisbane could sign Moses for the following year.
