Cox Plate winner Anamoe will continue his spring preparation, with trainer James Cummings confirming the superstar will run in the Group 1 TAB Champions Stakes.

The four-year-old triumphed ahead of I'm Thunderstruck and El Bodegon in Saturday's $5 million feature at Moonee Valley, and will now back up for a final race on November 5th at Flemington.

Speaking on SEN Track’s Giddy Up on Tuesday, Cummings revealed the stallion will race on and give fans one more chance to see him in action this year.

"Anamoe will go to the Champions Stakes, provided Anamoe is booming,” he said.

“At the moment, everything looks great and I think that above all else it’ll be...all about him.

“It’s a chance for him to win a time-honored Group 1 on Champion’s day, it’ll be very fitting.

“If he’s fit and well, he’s only had four runs this preparation, I just think back to when I ran him fifth up as a two-year-old in the Sires Produce and he just bolted away to win the race.

“I feel like he’s gradually improved every start this prep and he’s pulled up so well, the race is there for him, I’ve had it in my mind all preparation and it’d be great for the horse.

“I know there’s a bit of added pressure because it’d be an easy thing just to put him on the float and send him back to Osborne park and have him grazing next week.

"I’d be disappointed for the horse if he didn’t have his chance to go again.”

Anamoe has become one of Australia's best horses in the past year, claiming seven Group 1 victories from just 20 career starts to date.

Cummings has enjoyed a brilliant preparation for the Godolphin stable, with the likes of Golden Mile and Cascadian also tasting group-level success.

But all eyes will be on Anamoe in the G1 Champions Stakes, with the Cox Plate winner rated an even-money chance with TAB
