The sides last met in 2010 during qualifiers for the Asian Cup; on that occasion a heavily rotated Socceroos side secured a narrow 1-0 win in Brisbane.
Indonesia have only defeated Australia once, way back in 1981, and their overall form has been poor; their win over Vietnam has been their only success in the last eight games.
Australia on the other hand went 561 minutes without conceding before Uzbekistan got a late equaliser in the last group stage match, and generally have a good record against sides ranked lower than them in the FIFA World Rankings.
