The New York Knicks are through to the second round of the NBA playoffs, but it wasn't easy.

The Knicks beat the Philadelpiha 76ers, 118-115, in Game 6 on Thursday to advance to the second round.

The six-game series actually underscores how close the series was.

Just how close was it? Over six games, the Knicks out-scored the Sixers by one point.

The final points scored was 650-649.

Take Game 6 for instance: the Knicks took a 33-11 lead in the first quarter, only for the Sixers to storm back and take the lead by halftime. The 76ers took actually went up by 10 in the third quarter, only for the Knicks to storm back.

And that's just one game.

The Knicks scored 8 points in 40 seconds in Game 2 to steal a win from the 76ers.

Tyrese Maxey scored 7 points in 30 seconds in Game 5 to force overtime, where the Sixers defeated the Knicks to keep their season alive.

In the end, it was a battle between two teams with hopes of making a deep postseason who drew a poor bracket.

The Knicks managed to edge them out.
