Five-time champions of the IPL and of the most successful franchises of the entire league, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had a mixed bag of a season in IPL 2024 so far. After three home victories, the team has stumbled on the road, with one win in three.

In their most recent fixture, CSK got back to winning ways as they beat in-form Rajasthan Royal by 5 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and moved up to the third position with 14 points in 13 games.

If they managed to beat RCB in their final game, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will book their place in the playoffs. They can even qualify as long as they lose by fewer than 18 runs or with fewer than 11 balls remaining.

The Sporting News takes a look at CSK's chances of qualifying for the playoffs and the amount of games they’d need to win in the process in order to do so.
